This Privacy Policy explains how Mico, operated by Salter Ventures LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”), collects, uses, and protects your information. We believe in being straightforward about data practices.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Google Account information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and an authorization token to access your Google Business Profile. We do not receive or store your Google password.
- Phone number: The mobile number you provide for SMS delivery and verification.
- Payment information: Processed and stored by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, expiration date, or CVC on our servers.
Information We Access Through Google
- Google Business Profile data: Your business name, address, and location information.
- Review data: Reviews left on your Google Business Profile, including reviewer names, ratings, review text, and dates.
- Review responses: We post responses to your Google Business Profile only after you approve them.
We request the minimum Google permissions necessary to operate the service. We access your Google Business Profile through Google's official API using OAuth 2.0.
Information Generated by the Service
- Draft responses: AI-generated review response drafts created using your business context.
- Approval and edit history: Records of which drafts you approved, edited, or skipped, used to improve response quality over time.
- Voice profile: A structured analysis of your communication style and preferences, generated from your approval and edit patterns. This is used solely to improve draft quality for your account.
- SMS delivery records: Timestamps and status of messages sent and received.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Monitor your Google Business Profile for new reviews
- Generate draft responses using AI
- Deliver drafts to you via SMS
- Post approved responses to your Google Business Profile
- Improve response quality based on your feedback and edits
- Process payments and manage your subscription
- Send service-related communications (billing alerts, verification codes)
- Send periodic review activity notifications if you have not yet subscribed
We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell your information to third parties.
3. Third-Party Services
Mico relies on the following third-party services to operate:
We share only the minimum data necessary with each service for them to perform their function.
4. Data Sent to AI Services
To generate review response drafts, we send the following to Anthropic's Claude API:
- The review text, reviewer's first name, and star rating
- Your business name and address
- Your voice profile (communication style preferences)
We do not send your email address, phone number, payment information, or Google credentials to Anthropic.
5. Data Retention
- Active accounts: We retain your data for as long as your account is active.
- Cancelled accounts: After cancellation, we retain your data for 90 days in case you reactivate, then delete it. Your Google Business Profile data remains on Google — we do not control or delete it.
- Review response history: Posted responses remain on your Google Business Profile and are controlled by Google. We delete our copy of the response history 90 days after account cancellation.
6. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information:
- Google OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest
- All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Database access is restricted and authenticated
- We do not store payment card information — this is handled entirely by Stripe
No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a data breach that affects your information, we will notify you via SMS and email within 72 hours.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data by contacting us at support@mico.re
- Delete your account and associated data by texting STOP or contacting us at support@mico.re
- Revoke Google access at any time through your Google Account permissions
- Opt out of SMS at any time by texting STOP
- Export your review response history by contacting us
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to request deletion. We do not sell personal information.
If you are an EU resident, you have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
8. Cookies
The Mico website uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
9. Children's Privacy
Mico is a business tool and is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via SMS or email before the changes take effect. The effective date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last updated.
11. Google API Services User Data Policy
Mico's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
